Tony Ritchie

Tony is a consultant psychologist with over fifteen years of experience in providing psychological therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.

Tony completed his training at Macquarie University and is a registered Medicare Provider, WorkCover, provider, Veterans’s Counselling Service provider, a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and an AHPRA accredited supervisor.

Tony has worked as a part of the team at Hawkesbury Hospital and has been established in private practice for over 15 years. Tony is now a director of the Blue Mountains Clinic.

Tony has extensive experience in providing psychological assessment and therapy for mood disorders, anxiety disorders including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), family relationship difficulties, parent-child management, and behavioural difficulties.

Tony particularly enjoys working with young people and their families.

Alex Ritchie

Alex is a consultant psychologist and a registered Medicare provider, WorkCover provider, Veteran’s Counselling Service provider, Victims of Crime provider, and a member of the Australian Psychology Society.

Alex has worked in a community mental health team, Headspace, managed a community -based therapeutic program, and has been established in a private practice for over ten years. Alex is now a director of the Blue Mountains Clinic.

Alex has a broad range of experience in providing psychological assessments and treatments for children, adolescents, and adults, with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and family relationship difficulties. Alex works collaboratively with a number of external providers and services to best meet the clients needs and has extensive experience in assisting clients in navigating NDIS funding and other funding bodies.

Alex has a particular interest in assisting people on the Autism spectrum as well as individuals who have experienced trauma.

Renee Morgan

Renee is a clinical psychologist and a registered Medicare provider, Department of Veterans Affairs provider, Defence and Open Arms provider, and a member of the Australian Psychology Society College of Clinical Psychologists.

Renee has worked in a non-government organisations and has been established in private practice for the past six years.

Renee has a broad range of experience providing psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Cognitive and Academic abilities. Renee works collaboratively with clients and their families, and external agencies, to understand areas or concern or particular strengths and provide comprehensive feedback including preparation of reports with recommendations for ongoing support.

Renee also has extensive therapy experience, assisting people with self-esteem, mood and anxiety disorders, family or life stress, trauma, addiction, chronic health issues and disability using a client-centred approach drawing on training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills and other modalities. Renee has a particular interest in supporting teenagers and adults therapeutically.

Ron Houison

Ron is a registered Psychologist providing services for Medicare, NDIS, and Workers Compensation clients. He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society with eight years experience. Before joining the team at BMC he worked in a non-government organisation providing services to Centrelink clients.


Ron has a broad range of experience in providing psychological assessments and treatments for adolescents and adults. He primarily works with clients to help overcome mood disorders, anxiety disorders, cognitive and academic performance barriers, and improving motivation and social/vocational engagement.


Ron uses a client-centred approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Brief Solution-Focussed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy and other modalities. Ron has completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this modality in his couples therapy work.


Ron’s background as an internationally accredited sports offical prompted his interest in sport and performance psychology. He is presently engaged in a PhD research program through the University of Southern Queensland into the effects of the pre-competition mood and acute stress on the performance of Australian softball umpires.

Michelle Genders

Michelle is a Registered Psychologist with 5 years clinical experience in private practice and non-government organisations. Before that, she was employed as a psychology researcher for 12 years, and has also worked in employment services, disability services, tertiary education, and visual art.


Michelle has experience providing assessment and therapy for people with mild to severe mental health challenges such as anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, and stress-based disorders. She also enjoys supporting life transitions (eg primary to high school, high school to the ‘adult world’, university to a profession, interpersonal relationships changes, relocating to a new area), stressful circumstances, self-understanding and self-improvement.


Michelle uses a range evidence-based and trauma sensitive treatments adapted the client’s needs including psychoeducation, person-centred counselling, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioural therapy CBT (including DBT, ACT & Solution focused informed activities). She participates in regular supervision and professional development to further develop her therapeutic skills.


Michelle has a special interest in treatment adapted to the client’s stage of life and therefore enjoys working with people across the lifespan (ie adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults). She is developing additional skills in experiential therapy, trauma treatments and the development of resilience.


Michelle is a registered Medicare, Work Cover and NDIS Provider, and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc.

Taking new clients

Jacqui Cheyne

Jacqui is a Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in the assessment of neurodevelopment disorders, cognitive functioning, and academic abilities in children and adolescents. Whilst assessing for differences such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disorders, and Giftedness, Jacqui will also screen for other mental health challenges which may be impacting the child or young person.

Having worked previously with children and adolescents in NSW Health, private practice, and currently working for a children’s health charity delivering psychological therapy and assessment services to Rural and Remote regions of Australia, Jacqui has developed a range of experience in providing these comprehensive assessments over telehealth and is pleased to be able to offer these to families from within the comfort of their own home.

Jacqui will conduct a thorough assessment of a client’s functioning, gather information from parents/carers and teachers, and provide a comprehensive report with any diagnoses and ongoing recommendations.
